Abstract
This paper studies a representation of the mechanisms extracted from a cardboard fold that changes its connectivity and link number during the motion execution. A kinematic model of this mechanism is presented resorting to the study of the kinematic sub-chains and to the use of transformation matrices. This model is used for simulation of the mechanism and provides the motion sequence analysis. The results of the kinematic simulation are discussed which can be useful in the study of a number of portable mechanisms of foldable and collapsible kinds.
