Abstract
This paper explores factors affecting the diffusion of e-learning within a campus-based university, focusing in particular on the nature of the social networks influencing the adoption of e-learning by faculty members. These are mainly networks composed of colleagues within their academic department, a factor which has implications for the role and influence of central Teaching and Learning Centers responsible for educational or staff development services in support of the implementation of a university-wide e-learning strategy.
