Abstract

In this paper, a series method for the calculation of the body of dry gas holders under gas pressure is studied. The method gives the basic equations of the wall plates, corridors and columns of the body, and their closed form solution. All the unknown constants in the closed form solution are determined by solving a set of linear algebraic equations which are derived from the compatibility and boundary conditions. A numerical example is calculated. The results indicate that the series solution is agreeable to the finite element one.
