Abstract

Over the past hundred years the nursing role has evolved to become high profile professional discipline in which evidence-based practice has become increasingly important both for nurses and for their patients. More recently, this has resulted in a large increase in the number of nurses wishing to increase their knowledge base and studying for doctorates. Until now, however, there has been no text specifically related to doctoral education in nursing or midwifery context - Doctoral Education in Nursing fills that gap.
