Abstract

The Media Education Research Journal is keen to publish the outcomes of pedagogic research undertaken by teachers in all areas of media education - from early years to higher education and informal learning contexts. We feel that the Media Studies community lacks a reflective, peer-reviewed forum for serious academic discussion of the social pratice of media teaching and that this is one of the reasons for its lack of credability in some quarters. This seminar-style workshop will offer a friendly and supportive environment for media educators to get together and discuss research projects in progress, share ideas for future research and talk about how to make the step from producing research-based coursework for MA/CPD study to publishing such work in a peer reviewed journal.
