Abstract

This study is done to perform age estimation in human long bone thin section. This study is based on the Malaysian population. About 65 human bones are collected from the mortuary in Malaysia. The method of bone preparation is discussed. Several microstructural parameters are measured. In brief, the technique has offered distinct advantages over currently available histological methods for age estimation in human. The method has produced several regression equations for age estimation. Further research would be needed to validate the technique over a larger population sample.
