Abstract

This article compares six company law books: PL Davies, Gower's Principles of Modern Company Law; JE Parkinson, Corporate Power and Responsibility; S Sheikh, Corporate Social Responsibilities: Law and Practice; FE Easterbrook and D Fischel, The Economic Structure of Company Law; B Cheffins, Company Law: Theory, Structure and Operation; and S Deakin and A Hughes, Enterprise and Community; New Directions in Corporate Governance. Each adopts a different approach to the study of the subject. Collectively they illustrate the changes that have taken place in legal research methodology over the last few decades.
