Abstract
Examines significant developments in corporate governance following the White Paper, Modernising Company Law, and Enron and other corporate scandals. Considers the large number of organisations involved in corporate governance reform, the issues arising from this and the scope of the reforms. Outlines the key areas in the continued debate over the purpose of the company and their relationship to corporate governance. Reviews the impact of reforms to corporate vehicles and structures, including the introduction of Societas Europaea and limited liability partnerships.
