Abstract
The article discusses the importance of developing critical thought processes as part of continuing professional development. Continuing professional development has recently been defined by Skills for Care as a process that contributes to work-based and personal development and can be applied or assessed against competencies and organizational performance. There is now a great deal of emphasis on continuing professional development within social care education and training.
