Abstract
The article discusses the developments concerning psychiatric and mental health nursing. This journal has successfully applied to be included in the databases of the Institute for Scientific Information. It highlights the bases for assessing published papers in international research assessment exercises. The implications of the changes in the processes and funding of research in Australian universities is also explained.
