Abstract
At Bournemouth, we have developed a blood pressure service for patients with diabetes and established complications, which aims to empower patients to take responsibility for their heath. High-risk patients with diabetes and hypertension are able to monitor their blood pressure and adjust their medicaton competently when given clear instructions and education. Patients are likely to require up to three antihypertensive drugs to manage their blood pressure.
