Abstract
The Centre for Post-Qualifying Social Work at Bournemouth University have written a guide for employers to raise awareness of the induction and continuing professional development needs of international social workers in the UK. The guide offers suggestions on how the transitional process can be effectively managed and explores different support mechanisms that can be used alongside a structured induction. Whilst predominantly aimed at employers, the Resources section may also be of use to international social workers. The publication ‘Supporting the recruitment of international social workers in the UK: a guide for employers’ was launched at the Learn to Care conference in April 2008.
