Abstract
Interprofessional working in primary care has developed over the past 20 years with parallel changes to health professionals' education. Different theoretical models underpin the development of a practice as a learning organisation. Practice professional development planning allows the team's learning to be linked to the development of the practice and its services to meet the needs of patients. The future holds challenges and opportunities for primary care and interprofessional working and learning are essential for those who will prosper.
