Abstract

Nursing in the UK is a comprehensive introduction to the range of subjects that qualified nurses from overseas are required to have studied in order to gain registration in the UK. The book has been written to support both the requirements of the NMC's prescribed curriculum content for Overseas Nursing programmes, and as an introduction to the delivery and provision of UK healthcare for qualified nurses from the EU seeking to practice in the UK. This interactive textbook supports learners with activities, case studies and examples, reflection points and end-of-chapter quizzes for self-assessment. Key documents, legislation and reports are introduced and further reading offers a guide to additional information on the topic covered and links to relevant organisations. Nursing in the UK is also suitable for: people returning to nursing who require an overview and update on the latest developments in the profession; those considering a career in nurisng and looking to commence their nurse training in the UK; healthcare assistants looking to increase their understanding of the framework in which they practice.
