Abstract
This article explores the contemporary management of Scottish visitor attractions with a particular focus on the management of revenue generation. Based on the findings of a recent postal survey of Scottish visitor attractions charging admissions, the article outlines a series of practical recommendations for attraction managers, anywhere in Britain, wishing to improve the overall effectiveness of their sites. Three mini case studies – examples of 'good practice' – are used to highlight some of the key issues of attractions management.
