Abstract
HE (QSA) with the dates 1899–1900 in relief on the reverse has always held a fascination for medal collectors due to their scarcity and the story about how they every came to be issued. This article retells that story and provides an up to date list of known raised date QSAs which now extends to 64 such medals.
