Abstract
In Nepal there has been, and still is, a rapid growth in the higher education. This growth is not without its challenges. This article is based on the experiences of the two authors who are both based in at UK universities and who have been working closely with Nepalese universities and colleges. Both are actively involved in supervising a number of Nepalese postgraduate students in the UK. The paper highlights the key challenges for improving the higher education system in Nepal and suggests possible ways forward.
