Abstract
A discussion of recent legal changes in common law cases regarding patient autonomy and consent to treatment. There are key cases outlining the changes and how these apply to non-medical prescribers. There are also cases of malpractice featuring non medical prescribers and the outcome following prosecution or disciplinary action from professional regulators.
