Abstract
The focus in this roundtable discussion is on media coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic and the particular challenges for journalism students who are covering distressing news stories of grief and loss that can be very close to home in their own communities. What are the particular challenges posed in reporting on the pandemic and how can universities best prepare their students to cover such stories while also looking after their own mental wellbeing?
